Week 2:
Thankyou to everyone who made our Auckland Zoo trip a success. The sun shone and we saw lots of animals and learnt all about the zoo's programmes for endangered species. We also managed to fit in a quick trip to the playground too! We're now looking forward to completing our personal animal research and continuing our Learning Pathways in the classroom.

Dear Parents, Caregivers and students,

Welcome back to Term 3. I hope you all enjoyed the fine weather and had a relaxing break. A special hello to Sophie who starts in Room 7 on Monday from Nelson. We are all looking forward to getting to know you and making you feel welcome at Beachlands School

Our aim this term is to continue to set ourselves learning goals and work hard to achieve them, to be the best we can be. Our tables have also been changed to enable us to work and get to know each other better.
Our weekly class routine this term is as follows:

  • Sports:
  • Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
We expect that all students will change into their sports gear:  sports T shirt, school shorts and trainers.  Water bottles should also be brought to school daily. Students will be expected to change back into school uniform after their sports session. As the weather becomes wetter and colder, it is really important that they are able to change out of their sports gear and into warm dry clothes.
    •  Library:
  • Friday: Each student will be able to choose one book per session for a maximum of 2 weeks.

  • Assembly - you are welcome to attend whole school assembly on Monday (8.30) and Kowhai Team assembly every Thursday (1.45pm). Class assemblies will continue this term and your support is welcome.

  • Homework - the Y3/4 cluster homework continues from week 1. Please ensure that your child's book is returned on Fridays so we can mark our work together as a class. This also ensures that all the books are in school on Monday.
