   Project Pickle
Room 14 and Room 4 are buddie classes.  We all planted
beetroot in the Kaiawa gardens in term 1.  The reason why
we did this was it
was an EE project that both classes wanted
to do so that we could
then sell it at the enviro fair in term 2.
It took quite a few weeks
for the beetroot to grow but we
eventually got there!  It was a fun
job but hard work.

To sell it at the enviro fair we had to pickle it, boil it and put it
into
jars.  The weeks went fast over our beetroot growing, and
two of the most exciting was selling it and pulling it out of the
ground.  As soon as we heard Mrs Cullen and Mrs Winters say
the good news we all got very excited and couldn't stop talking
about how well it had all grown.

This term has been great for both classes.  We've really
enjoyed learning how to grow and pickle beetroot.
