The Frog
Pond
The frog pond is in the Kaiawa Gardens and has been there since 2009. Mrs Williamson
and the 09 Totara group planned and built the pond as part of their project. Mrs Williamson
left at the end of 2009 so Room 10 and Room 4 carried it on with the help of the caretaker.
The two classes spent a couple of afternoons each week down there working on it
constantly. They have spent about $200 of Environmental Education money on the frog
pond. Since they have started they have put in a bridge, steps and have planted some
plants. Not forgetting of course the tadpoles too!! The next project will be thinking of a way
to keep the birds away from the frogs.
