Welcome back for Term 3.

We have a full term ahead of us so it is straight back into learning.

We are going to focus on getting along and sharing, using our words to communicate.

We continue with our letter tags for each letter. We have almost finished the formation of each letter and then we will consolidate by going over the letters again. Each week we will have a focus word and this word will be linked to our poems and shared book. It is interesting to see how many of these words the children are recognising in their readers and library books.

In Maths we will work towards reaching the goals set last term. The children will be tested early in the term to be certain they are at the right level.

In Environmental Education our focus will be looking after the chickens. Any food scraps can be brought to school and we will take them down to the chickens. We are also collecting the eggs and selling them. If you are interested in buying them, please see me. Also we need parents who are interested in going on the roster for feeding the chickens over weekends. Any interested parents to please give me your name and contact details so that you can be added to the list. As we have our Green and Gold E.E. evaluation coming up later this term, a big focus will be on the children sharing their understanding of what we are doing and how it is contributing to the enviornment.

Our garden behind Room 1 is looking great. A whole lot of seedlings and plants have been planted and in the Spring it is going to look fantastic. Thank you to the parents for helping sort out the messy garden and make it into a beautiful garden.

Our PMP Programme is up and running. The children need to bring in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. It is hard to do some of the activities in their school uniform. We have two half hour sessions twice a week. If there are any parents who are still willing and able to help, please see me.

This term we have Graham Braddock, an artist, coming in to teach the children how to draw in 3D. I look forward to seeing the results.

As we continue the journey together this term, feel free to contact me if you have any concerns.
