What have we been doing? Our first week back at school this term was exciting with a visit from artist Graham Braddock who showed us how to draw 3D. We also enjoyed a visit from Nicky with her Ocean Alive show. She showed us lots of creatures that live in the ocean. We smelt Krill, saw ugly fish, looked at the size of different sharks and stood as many children as possible on the tail of a whale. Earlier in term 1 Heidi from Tangaroa Blue Ocean Care Society visited us. She showed us what happens to sea animals when plastic and rubbish end up in the sea. We are learning how we can make a difference and help the sea creatures. Litter and rubbish in the sea and beaches is called 'Marine Debris' We are part of the NZ Marine Debris Project and help save the sea animals. We have been on a Beach Clean at Sunkist Bay to look after our local beach and protect the sea life on our coastline. You may like to look at this website. OCEAN CARE
