
Term 3
Years 7 and 8 students will be spending the Term working on group projects to enhance the School Environment. The students have planned what they want to do and the materials have been bought. Projects have been chosen that allow the students to use skills already learnt, as well as to add new ones to their repertoir. They have been able to pick projects of interest to them. Later in the term we will showcase what they have achieved.

Bird Houses
Murals
Games
Costumes for the Production
Years 5 and 6: Room 15 will be painting and making cushions, making African masks, and making 3D letters, and will be cooking towards the end of the 6 weeks. Room 14 will begin their 6 weeks in week 6 and will carry on for the first week of Term 4.
The students in the Rimu team all have lessons in the Learning Pathways Centre (LPC for short). For the Years 7 and 8 students their learning is in the Curriculum areas of Technology, Science and Visual Art. They attend one day per week for the whole year. The Years 5 and 6 students will spend the majority of their time undertaking a variety of projects in Technology. For this year they will have Fridays in the Learning Pathways Centre for 6 weeks.
The timetable for Term 3 is as follows:
Monday: Room 19
Tuesday: Room 17
Wednesday: Room 12
Thursday: Room 18
Friday: Years 5 and 6 beginning with Room 15 for the first 4 weeks of the Term and Room 14 will follow in week 6
All students must wear full covered shoes for safety reasons and to comply with OSH regulations. Long hair is to be tied back from faces, and no jewellery other than watches and stud or sleeper earings should be worn.
Year 7 and 8 students are required to buy separate stationery for the Learning Pathways Centre. This stationery will be kept in the LPC all year to ensure students are organised for class.The items they must have are:
a 30cm ruler
an eraser
a blue or black pen
a pencil
a 1L5 science book.
