Welcome to 2012. Beachlands School is a unique school in the way that it strongly focussed on making sure we can deliver the best possible education within the resources it has at its disposal. The Beachlands Community is very supportive and teachers work closely with parents to help make sure education is meaningful and fun for the children.

With the revised curriculum we have the freedom to design a curriculum based upon the "Beachlands Learner" which will provide the children who attend Beachlands School with an education that not only delivers in the basics of numeracy and literacy but will also equips them with the habits and skills of using information literacy and thinking skills. The "Beachlands Learner" is based upon the four areas of leadership, life long learning, communicator and contributor.

At Beachlands School we provide authentic learning which allows the children to apply their learning to the world we live in. Each term has an authentic task which integrates different learning areas and supports the students in becoming self motivated and responsible for their own learning.

We have a strong focus each year on student achievement and we set targets for the students to achieve in the areas of numeracy and literacy. We also aim to build the social and emotional skills of the children through a range of strategies base upon our values surrounding FERN (Friendship, Encouragement, Respect and Nurture). It is important that all children are able to demonstrate these values in order to create an effective learning and collaborative community in each class.

Communication is a key to ensure the school and parents can work in a partnership to get the best possible learning outcomes and we look forward to working with you throughout the year in what ever capacity you are able to provide. We invite you to make the time to attend the open days throughout the year to participate and learn about the educational opportunities your child is able to participate in.
