Beachlands School is part of a small community with a big heart. About 3000 people live in Beachlands, known as "the marine garden suburb" and located on the beautiful Pohutukawa Coast.
Two minutes from the school is a small town centre with a wide range of retail outlets, ATM cash machine, the Beachlands Chartered Club, medical practice and community constable's office. The community is well served by a variety of organisations including Plunket (with Plunket rooms), a Playcentre located in the Beachlands School grounds, Physiotherapists, library, Red Cross, First Response Team (for medical emergencies), sea rescue and volunteer fire service.
Our beautiful coastal resources include Sunkist Bay Beach, two minutes from the town centre, complete with boat ramp affording easy access to the Hauraki Gulf. Close by is Shelly Bay with its spectacular pohutukawas and outlook over the Gulf and Waiheke Island.
Five minutes away at Maraetai are the district's best all-tide sandy beaches and two wharves. Between Beachlands and Maraetai is Omana Regional Park with playground, barbecue facilities, and its incredible views of the Hauraki Gulf and Islands. Five minutes in the other direction is the world class Formosa Auckland Country Club and restaurant with an 18 Hole golf course designed by Bob Charles as well as a separate sports complex with heated swimming pool, gymnasium, indoor tennis and squash courts. Also within five minutes of Beachlands is Pine Harbour Marina with full berthing facilities and support services enabling convenient access to the Hauraki Gulf. There is a daily timetable for the ferry to go to Auckland City and Waiheke Island.
There are boat clubs in both Beachlands and Maraetai as well as other sporting clubs and facilities including summer touch rugby, winter rugby, soccer, netball, tennis, horse riding and the award winning Whitford Forest mountain bike trail. The Te Puru Sports Complex features floodlit tennis courts, baseball and rugby grounds and skateboarding facilities. Living in Beachlands provides easy access to our Full Primary School, along with a wealth of outdoor pursuits and opportunities.
