Learning in the Rimu Team
Learners in Years 4 to 6 are at a very important stage of their educational journey. They are consolidating the basics and moving beyond to being able to apply their skills and knowledge to a broader range of experiences. Our students are working on their collaborative learning skills and enhancing their ability to communicate in a range of ways.
To help us it is important that you are encouraging your child to complete home learning tasks, that you are supporting your child to read every day and to develop a habit of reading; it has been proven that learners who are reading in their own time are accelerating in all areas of their education. It is also important that students are encouraged to ask questions and be curious about their world. This is a time of life when learners can really begin to deepen their understanding of how the world works.
Lines of Communication
1. At Beachlands School we believe in talking directly to the person that can solve the problem. This means that in most cases initial contact is an appointment with your child’s Teacher.
2. If there is no resolution then you need to make an appointment with the Team Leader.
3. After this point you may need to make an appointment with an Associate Principal.
4. At this stage if any further action is required they may refer you to the Principal or the SENCO depending on the action required.
